Jan. 5 , Poonch police at Sawjian seized 18 bottles of illicit Liquor and arrested one accused . Today a Police Party of PP Sawjian led by PSI Sohan Singh established a naka at Chamber tehsil Mandi for routine checking. During checking one person was intercepted who was carrying a bag with him. On searching of his bag 18 bottles of liqour recovered. On questioning he disclosed his name as Mashooq Ahmed s/o Bashir Ahmed r/o Gagrian Mandi. Actually he was carrying excessive quantity of liqour prescribed under Excise Act. In this connection a Case has been registered under relevant sections of excise act at Police station Mandi and taken up investigation. The arrest and recovery has been made under close supervision of SHO P/S Mandi Ins. Mukhtiar Ali and DySP Hqrs Poonch Nawaz Ahmed JKPS and overall supervision of SSP Poonch Sh. Rohit Baskotra JKPS. The people of area lauded the efforts of police in controlling drugs menace particularly PSI Sohan Singh who recently joined as Incharge PP Sawjian.
