DC Rajouri launches “Parchar Rath Awareness Van” under Jal Jeevan Mission

RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 2: Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today flagged off the “Parchar Rath Awareness Van” under the Jal Jeevan Mission. This van will travel to different parts of Rajouri district to sensitize villagers about the importance of safe drinking water and efficient water management.

 

The program was organized by DSEO Rajouri in collaboration with Implementing support Agency Adarsh Saraswati Mahila Siksha Evam Gramin Vikas Simiti Tonk.

 

At the launch, Deputy Commissioner hailed the launch of “Parchar Rath Awareness Van as part of the Jal Jeevan Mission and hoped that the van will help to reach out to the majority of the population and inform the public about the importance of conservation and implementation guidelines of the Jal Jeevan Mission in the District.

 

“This initiative is aimed at making water conservation a norm among citizens and building public awareness in order to ensure sustainable management of water resources,” said the Deputy Commissioner’

 

He further said that the effort was also focused on providing training to the front-line workers on the importance of efficient utilization of water resources. The Deputy Commissioner also informed that 243 schemes have been sanctioned at an approved outlay of Rs 1943 crore for the district under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

 

“The work of Projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission is in full swing across the district and we are committed to provide tap water connection to every household as per the guidelines of Jal Jeevan Mission” he said and added that Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, citizens are offered various water quality assurance schemes, such as Water Quality Testing, which aim at providing quality drinking water.

 

Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Imran Kataria, Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid, DSEO, Sandeep Sharma and other members of Implementing support agency were also present.
