JUNE 26: In a significant step toward inclusive development and educational empowerment, NMDC Limited, India’s leading iron ore producer, has opened applications for two fully sponsored education programs aimed at tribal youth in Chhattisgarh. These initiatives are part of NMDC’s flagship CSR efforts focused on community upliftment and skill development.
Balika Shiksha Yojana – Empowering Tribal Girls through Nursing Education
Under the Balika Shiksha Yojana, tribal girls belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category from the districts of Bastar, Dantewada, Sukma, Kondagaon, Bijapur, and Narayanpur are invited to apply for 100% free B.Sc. Nursing (4 years) and GNM (3 years) programs.
A total of 200 seats are available, distributed as 110 for B.Sc. Nursing and 90 for GNM across reputed institutions such as Apollo School of Nursing, Yashoda School of Nursing, and KIMS College of Nursing in Hyderabad. The initiative will cover full tuition, hostel accommodation, and academic expenses, with each student receiving an investment worth ₹12–15 lakh.
Eligibility requires the applicant’s family income to be under ₹72,000 annually, and applications will be accepted until June 28, 2025.
Medical Technology Program – For ST Boys and Girls
In partnership with Apollo University, Chittoor, NMDC is also offering a fully funded Allied Health Sciences education for ST boys and girls from Dantewada and Bastar districts.
This program provides 90 seats, with 60% reserved for girls and 40% for boys, offering specialized B.Sc. degrees in fields such as:

Like the nursing program, all educational costs are covered. Applications are open until June 30, 2025.
