5 Aug: In a significant stride towards agricultural sustainability and post-harvest management, the Chief Minister, along with Minister of Agriculture Production Javed Ahmad Dar, Minister Satish Sharma, Advisor to CM Nasir Sogami, and MLA Arvind Gupta, inaugurated a 5145 MT Cold Storage Unit at Talab Tillo, Jammu, earlier today.
This much-needed facility is poised to become a game-changer for farmers across the Jammu region, particularly those dealing with perishables like fruits, vegetables, and dairy products. With its state-of-the-art infrastructure and ample capacity, the cold store promises to curb post-harvest losses, prolong shelf life, and improve farmers’ bargaining power in local and national markets.

With increasing agricultural output and diversification into high-value crops, cold chain logistics has emerged as a vital pillar for India’s farming economy.
