SEP 01: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma, held a detailed interaction with members of the civil society during his visit to Surankote. The meeting served as a platform to exchange views, gather feedback, and address public concerns with the aim of strengthening people-centric governance.
During the interaction, Sharma underlined the importance of active participation of local communities in developmental processes. He urged citizens to share constructive suggestions so that the administration can deliver more effectively and in line with public needs.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the status of road connectivity projects in the area, stressing that timely completion of infrastructure works is critical for improving accessibility and economic activity. He directed concerned officials to expedite pending projects and maintain quality standards.
In addition, Sharma took stock of Jal Shakti projects, which are essential for ensuring reliable drinking water supply to households. He emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening public service delivery, particularly in sectors that directly affect everyday life.
Civil society representatives appreciated the administration’s outreach and raised several local issues. The DC assured them that all genuine concerns would be addressed in a time-bound manner, reflecting the administration’s priority to enhance transparency, efficiency, and trust between the government and people.
