JULY 31: During his visit to Gujarat for the Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF) in Ahmedabad, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, accompanied by his Advisor Mr. Nasir Sogami, paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel, in Gandhinagar today.
The meeting highlighted the importance of enhancing inter-state cooperation, with a shared focus on sustainable tourism, regional development, and inclusive economic progress. The Chief Ministers exchanged ideas on strategies that have worked successfully in their respective states, especially in areas like rural tourism, cultural heritage promotion, eco-tourism, and infrastructure development.
Jammu and Kashmir, known for its natural beauty and cultural richness, is actively working to boost tourism as a driver of economic growth. Gujarat, with its successful tourism models like the Statue of Unity and Rann Utsav, provided valuable insights into marketing, public-private partnerships, and community participation. The interaction provided an opportunity for both sides to explore collaborative projects and cross-learning opportunities to uplift their tourism sectors.
Additionally, the discussion touched upon broader developmental goals, such as skill-building, entrepreneurship, and technology adoption to benefit citizens across both states.
