AUG 14: The Delhi Milk Scheme (DMS) achieved a new milestone on 13 August 2025 with the launch of Cow Milk, co-branded dairy products, and the distribution of booth allotment letters at a special event held at the NASC Complex, Pusa, New Delhi. The occasion marked a step towards enhancing dairy quality, strengthening consumer trust, and empowering livestock farmers through improved market opportunities.
The event was graced by Smt. Alka Upadhyaya, Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (DAHD), along with senior officials and stakeholders from the dairy sector. As part of the initiative, 22 new booth allotment letters were handed over to selected applicants under the DMS, creating employment opportunities while improving the rural–urban dairy connect.
In her keynote address, Smt. Upadhyaya outlined the department’s vision to reinforce the dairy ecosystem through better product offerings, modern marketing strategies, and inclusive growth for all stakeholders in the value chain. She commended the collaboration between DMS and the Haryana Milk Federation in introducing new dairy products to the market.
Additional Secretary DAHD, Ms. Varsha Joshi, emphasised the significance of the DMS brand in serving the Delhi-NCR region and noted that the introduction of new products would further strengthen the scheme’s market presence and consumer reach.
The event also saw the participation of Shri Rama Shankar Sinha, Additional Secretary DAHD; Shri Jagat Hazarika, Advisor DAHD; and Sh. Ram Avtar Garg, Chairman, Vita of the Haryana Dairy Development Co-Operative Federation Ltd. Beneficiaries of the booth allotment scheme attended the ceremony, underscoring its impact on community-level entrepreneurship.
With the dual focus on expanding product variety and enabling employment through booth allocations, the Delhi Milk Scheme is positioning itself as both a driver of dairy innovation and a catalyst for socio-economic growth in the capital and its surrounding regions.
