SEP 13: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today joined thousands of devotees at the revered Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar to offer Jumma (Friday) prayers on the sacred occasion of the Friday following Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The Hazratbal Shrine, known for housing the holy relic of the Prophet (SAW), witnessed an overwhelming turnout of worshippers who gathered from across the Kashmir Valley to participate in the congregational prayers. On this blessed day, the Chief Minister had the honour of witnessing the sacred deedar (glimpse) of the holy relic after the prayers, a moment of deep reverence and spiritual significance for the faithful.
Speaking on the occasion, Omar Abdullah prayed for enduring peace, prosperity, and collective well-being of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He expressed hope that the message of compassion, unity, and brotherhood exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (SAW) would continue to inspire harmony across the region.
The gathering at Hazratbal Shrine was marked by an atmosphere of devotion, with special sermons highlighting the life and teachings of the Prophet (SAW). Religious scholars and clerics stressed upon the importance of following the values of truth, kindness, and justice in everyday life.
Former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani also accompanied Omar Abdullah during the visit, offering prayers alongside him. Their presence further underscored the significance of the occasion, which brings together people from all walks of life in collective faith and reverence.
The Friday following of Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) remains one of the most spiritually enriching occasions in the Islamic calendar for Kashmir, drawing massive congregations at Hazratbal Shrine year after year.
