NOV 12: Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, virtually interacted with the first batch of students participating in the Ashtalakshmi Darshan Youth Exchange Programme. The interaction was attended by senior officials of the Ministry of DoNER and Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Arunachal Pradesh, which is hosting the inaugural batch.
The programme has brought together 39 students — 19 from Goa and 20 from Uttarakhand — visiting Arunachal Pradesh to experience its vibrant culture and traditions. Organized by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) and the North Eastern Council (NEC), Ashtalakshmi Darshan aims to strengthen youth-to-youth connections and cultural understanding under the “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Scindia emphasized that the programme reflects the government’s commitment to inclusivity, ensuring equal participation of boys and girls. He described it as a platform for building emotional and cultural bonds between youth from across India and the eight Northeastern states.
Engaging with students, Scindia appreciated their insights about Arunachal Pradesh and encouraged them to act as ambassadors of unity and understanding. He called the participants the “first alumni” of the Ashtalakshmi Darshan journey and urged them to share their experiences widely.
The Minister reaffirmed that the initiative symbolizes India’s strength in diversity and continues to advance the vision of cultural integration, youth empowerment, and Viksit Bharat 2047.
