SEP 17: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today virtually inaugurated a Bailey Bridge on the Ramban–Gool road, marking a significant milestone in restoring connectivity for nearly 1.5 lakh residents of Ramban, Sangaldan, and Gool areas.
Speaking on the occasion, the LG said the bridge is more than just infrastructure—it is a lifeline of hope for thousands of people whose daily lives depend on this crucial route. The new connectivity will enhance mobility, improve access to essential services, and contribute to the overall ease of living for the region’s residents.
He noted that recent natural calamities had caused severe damage in the area, disrupting roads, hampering economic activity, and isolating local communities. Despite the adverse conditions, engineers of the Indian Army rose to the challenge, working with resilience and dedication to complete the project.
“This Bailey Bridge is a shining example of the Army’s commitment, technical expertise, and service to the nation,” LG Sinha remarked. He added that the completion of this bridge not only restores vital connectivity but also renews hope and confidence for the affected communities.
Local residents, who had been grappling with transportation difficulties following landslides and road blockages, are expected to benefit greatly. The restored route will facilitate smoother movement of goods, emergency services, and daily travel, significantly reducing hardships faced over the past months.
The LG expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for its relentless service and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to strengthening infrastructure resilience in disaster-prone regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
With the inauguration of the Bailey Bridge, Ramban–Gool regains a vital artery of connectivity, symbolizing both recovery and renewed progress for the region.
