CM in Gurez for Tribal Festival 2025, Bats for Heritage and Inclusive Growth

AUG 07: The Chief Minister arrived in the picturesque valley of Gurez today to participate in the National Tribal Festival 2025, a significant cultural and developmental initiative aimed at celebrating the heritage of India’s tribal communities. The visit reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to preserving tribal traditions while promoting inclusive development in remote and strategically important regions.

The National Tribal Festival, being held in Gurez for the first time, brings together tribal communities from across Jammu & Kashmir and other parts of the country. The event showcases the vibrant culture, traditional crafts, music, dance, and cuisine of indigenous groups. The CM’s presence added further enthusiasm to the celebrations and boosted morale among the participants and locals alike.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister emphasized that tribal communities are the guardians of a rich cultural legacy and natural wisdom. “Our government is committed to safeguarding tribal identity while ensuring their access to modern opportunities in education, healthcare, and infrastructure,” the CM stated.

Highlighting several ongoing and upcoming initiatives under the Tribal Sub-Plan and other centrally sponsored schemes, the CM reiterated the administration’s focus on bringing essential services and sustainable livelihood options to far-flung areas like Gurez.

The Chief Minister also interacted with local tribal leaders, youth, and women entrepreneurs to understand their needs and aspirations. Special exhibitions were organized to display traditional tribal art and handloom products, aiming to promote local talent and economic empowerment.

The Gurez visit not only underlines the cultural importance of the tribal festival but also signals the state’s resolve to bridge the development gap in remote areas.
