SEP 10: Srinagar, J&K – Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated the Hindusthan-2025 Wedding Planners Expo at the iconic SKICC in Srinagar, marking a significant step towards positioning Jammu & Kashmir as India’s premier destination for luxury weddings.
Highlighting the immense natural beauty and cultural richness of Kashmir, the CM stated that the initiative is more than just a promotional campaign. “‘Wed in Kashmir’ is not just a tagline—it’s a movement,” he said. “A movement to turn Kashmir’s beauty into an engine of prosperity, one that boosts tourism, encourages entrepreneurship, and creates jobs.”
He called upon wedding planners and event organizers from across India and abroad to act as brand ambassadors for Kashmir, helping to restore the region’s status on the global tourism map. The expo brought together industry experts, event managers, hoteliers, and entrepreneurs to explore the immense potential Kashmir holds for high-end destination weddings.
The event is part of a broader effort to revitalize tourism in the region and promote sustainable economic development through creative and experience-driven sectors.
