May 15: Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, Atal Dulloo, visited the border areas of Akhnoor and Khour to assess ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts in the wake of recent cross-border shelling incidents. His visit aimed to review the condition of affected civilians and ensure timely delivery of assistance.
During the inspection, Dulloo evaluated the availability of emergency shelter, medical care, and assessed the extent of infrastructure damage caused by the shelling. He interacted with local residents and officials, directing the administration to expedite relief distribution and ensure that no affected family is left unattended.
Emphasizing the need for long-term preparedness, the Chief Secretary instructed officials to prioritize the construction of community bunkers and reinforce other protective measures in vulnerable areas. He reiterated the government’s unwavering support for border communities, stating that the safety and well-being of citizens living along the Line of Control (LoC) remains a top priority.
The visit reflects the administration’s commitment to ensuring both immediate relief and sustainable safety solutions for civilians impacted by recurring border hostilities.
