NOV 09: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, today chaired a review meeting to evaluate the progress of works being executed by the Rural Development Department (RDD) under the District Capex Budget and flagship schemes — Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Grameen) and Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen).
Dr. Minhas conducted a block-wise assessment of ongoing projects and directed officers to achieve targets under MGNREGA and SBM(G). He emphasized initiating works that promote village sanitation and rural livelihood enhancement.
The Deputy Commissioner issued firm directions to accelerate expenditure under the District Capex budget, ensuring timely execution of all sanctioned works. He also instructed concerned Tehsildars to resolve land-related issues on priority to prevent delays.
Officers were further asked to take up supplementary plan works and complete projects within set timelines. Reviewing both physical and financial progress, Dr. Minhas stressed the importance of monitoring, inter-departmental coordination, and transparency to ensure effective implementation of government schemes at the grassroots.
He also underlined the need to achieve PMAY(G) targets within the stipulated time frame, ensuring visible development impact in rural areas.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Sher Singh, Assistant Commissioner Anmol Rathore, Chief Planning Officer Ajaypal Singh, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Shehzada Noor ul Ain, Assistant Commissioner Development Danish Rasool Mir, Block Development Officers, and other concerned officials.
