Feb 5: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary today interacted with National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh in Jammu and congratulated them for their proud participation in the Republic Day Camp (RDC)–2026 march at Kartavya Path, New Delhi.
During the interaction, the Deputy CM lauded the cadets for their discipline, dedication, and exemplary conduct, stating that their performance on the nation’s most prestigious ceremonial avenue reflects the spirit of unity, patriotism, and commitment among the youth of J&K and Ladakh.
He said that marching on Kartavya Path during Republic Day celebrations is a matter of immense pride, not only for the cadets and their families but also for the entire region. He described the achievement as a testimony to the rigorous training, perseverance, and values instilled by the NCC.
Addressing the cadets, Surinder Choudhary urged them to act as role models for society, particularly for the younger generation. He emphasized that youth must stay away from drugs and other social evils and channel their energy toward constructive nation-building activities.
“The discipline and sense of responsibility that NCC instils in young minds is vital for building a strong, progressive and self-reliant India,” the Deputy CM said. He encouraged cadets to continue contributing to society through service, leadership and active participation in national development.
Highlighting the importance of youth engagement, he said that the future of the country rests on the shoulders of disciplined and socially conscious young citizens. He added that the NCC plays a crucial role in nurturing leadership qualities, national integration, and a spirit of service among students.
The interaction also focused on motivating cadets to pursue excellence in academics, sports and public service, while upholding the core values of integrity, teamwork and patriotism.
Officials from the NCC Directorate J&K and Ladakh were present on the occasion and briefed the Deputy CM about the achievements and training standards of the cadets. The cadets shared their experiences of participating in RDC-2026, describing it as a memorable and transformative journey.
The event concluded with the Deputy CM reaffirming the government’s support for youth-centric initiatives and institutions like the NCC, which play a vital role in shaping responsible citizens and strengthening national unity.
