NOV 12: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress of ongoing works under the Jhelum Tawi Flood Recovery Project (JTFRP), emphasizing completion of all projects by the extended deadline of August 2026.
The meeting was attended by senior officers including Additional Chief Secretary (Planning) Dr. Ashish Chandra Verma, ACS (Public Works), Principal Secretary (Home), Secretary (Health & Medical Education), Managing Director (JKMSCL), and CEO J&K ERA Shreya Singhal.
Dr. Verma informed that out of 213 projects, 202 have been completed, 10 are under execution, and one is at the tendering stage. So far, ₹1580 crore has been spent, leading to creation of key infrastructure damaged in the 2014 floods.
CEO ERA briefed that work on the additional block of LD Hospital is progressing steadily, with 20% completion achieved. The structure is expected to reach the base isolator level by December 15. To speed up work, pre-engineered components are being fabricated in Haryana for on-site installation by the end of December.
In Baramulla District, construction of five bridges—Shrakawara, Wahdina, WazaMohallah (Kreeri), Wagoora, and Trikolbal Pattan—is nearing completion, targeted for December 2025.
The State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) has achieved 80% civil and 35% electromechanical progress.
The Chief Secretary directed all departments to ensure strict monitoring and coordination for timely completion, reinforcing infrastructure resilience across Jammu and Kashmir.
