SEP 10: In a swift and coordinated response to the recent floods that have severely impacted several regions of Jammu, the Indian Railways has initiated Flood Special trains to deliver critical aid and ensure safe transportation for affected residents.

These specially-deployed trains are carrying essential relief materials, including food, drinking water, medical supplies, blankets, and other necessities, to various flood-affected locations. Additionally, they are facilitating the evacuation and transport of stranded passengers, ensuring timely support to the communities in distress.

The trains are currently extending support to the following key areas: Katra, Reasi, Bakkal, Dugga, Sawalkote, and Sangaldan. These regions have faced significant disruptions due to the heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding, with damaged roads and communication lines making conventional relief efforts challenging.

By leveraging the extensive railway network, authorities have been able to quickly mobilize resources and bypass blocked roadways. Relief teams are working in close coordination with local officials to ensure that supplies reach the most affected populations without delay.

Indian Railways has reaffirmed its commitment to standing with the people in times of crisis. These Flood Special trains are part of a larger nationwide effort to ensure relief reaches every corner of the country impacted by natural calamities.

With continued monitoring of the flood situation, further trips and logistical support are being planned as required. These measures reflect the resilience, preparedness, and solidarity of the nation in the face of adversity.
