Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Dr. Devansh Yadav conducted an extensive visit to various municipal wards to review the status of basic civic amenities and inspect on-ground functioning of sanitation and public service operations.

During the visit, Dr. Yadav toured several areas including New Plot, Talimorh, Janipur, Roop Nagar, Muthi, and adjoining localities falling under the jurisdiction of JMC. The Commissioner interacted with field staff and residents to assess the effectiveness of ongoing municipal activities and identify areas needing immediate attention.

Inspecting the morning sanitation drive, Dr. Yadav directed officials to ensure regular cleaning and waste collection across all wards. He emphasized maintaining cleanliness as a continuous effort and called upon sanitation supervisors to monitor operations closely. The Commissioner urged citizens to cooperate with the Corporation by using designated garbage collection vehicles and refraining from throwing waste on streets, reiterating that “keeping the city clean is a shared responsibility.”

Taking stock of the street lighting system, Dr. Yadav instructed the concerned engineers to identify and repair non-functional streetlights without delay. He noted that proper illumination not only improves public convenience but also enhances safety during night hours.

The Commissioner also reviewed the functioning of other essential services, emphasizing the need for accountability, prompt grievance redressal, and coordination among municipal teams. He appreciated the field workers for their continued efforts and urged them to maintain high standards of civic hygiene and public service delivery.

Accompanying the Commissioner during the visit were Health Officer Dr. Vinod Sharma and other senior officials of the Corporation. The tour underscored JMC’s ongoing commitment to strengthening civic infrastructure, improving sanitation systems, and ensuring better living conditions for the residents of Jammu City.
