Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri visited the Hanwha Ocean shipbuilding facility in South Korea, where he reviewed advanced maritime technologies and explored new opportunities for collaboration between the two nations.
During the visit, the Minister also held several high-level meetings with South Korean leadership, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties in the maritime, energy, and industrial sectors.

Strengthening India–Korea Maritime Partnership
The discussions centered on expanding cooperation in areas such as shipbuilding, offshore infrastructure, energy security, and maritime logistics.
Puri highlighted India’s growing maritime capabilities, the government’s commitment to modernizing port infrastructure, and the importance of partnering with leading global shipbuilders like Hanwha Ocean.
South Korean officials expressed strong interest in working with India on upcoming maritime initiatives, technological advancements, and strategic supply-chain partnerships.
Boosting Energy and Industrial Collaboration
The Minister also emphasized India’s efforts to diversify energy sources, promote cleaner fuels, and integrate advanced technologies into the country’s oil and gas sector.
