NOV 05: The Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Shri Jitin Prasada, led the India Business Delegation to the India–Romania Business Forum held in Brașov, Romania, organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Brașov (CCIBv) in partnership with the Embassy of India in Bucharest and the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India.
The forum focused on expanding bilateral trade, investment, and industrial cooperation, bringing together leading business representatives from sectors such as automotive, aerospace, defence, renewable energy, engineering services, and ICT.
In his keynote address, Shri Jitin Prasada highlighted India’s emergence as one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies and invited Romanian enterprises to participate in India’s vibrant manufacturing and innovation ecosystem. He emphasized opportunities under the Make in India, Digital India, and Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes, which aim to enhance industrial competitiveness and attract global investors.
A detailed presentation on “Business Opportunities in India” showcased India’s recent policy reforms, ease-of-doing-business measures, and state-level industrial incentives. The session also witnessed the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and B2B interactions aimed at fostering joint ventures and technology collaborations between Indian and Romanian companies.
The Brașov Forum marks a key milestone in strengthening India’s economic engagement with Central and Eastern Europe, reaffirming both nations’ commitment to sustainable manufacturing, green energy, and high-technology partnerships.
