MARCH 13:In light of the ongoing Ramzan celebrations, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Jammu, Ansuya Jamwal, conducted a comprehensive market inspection in the Talab Khatikan area of Jammu city. The inspection was aimed at ensuring that markets were operating smoothly and that both shopkeepers and the public adhered to the necessary regulations during the holy month.

During her visit, ADM Ansuya Jamwal instructed shopkeepers to maintain high standards of hygiene, display accurate rate lists, and strictly follow safety protocols. These measures are essential not only for the convenience of the public but also to ensure their safety amidst the increased foot traffic during Ramzan. Officials made it clear that any failure to comply with these regulations could result in penalties, emphasizing the importance of following the prescribed norms for the welfare of the community.

In addition to these guidelines, shopkeepers were reminded to update their licenses and registrations with the relevant authorities, including the Food Safety Department, Food & Civil Supplies, and the Labour Department. These updates are crucial for the smooth functioning of the market, ensuring that all establishments are properly certified and compliant with health and safety regulations.

The ADM also took the opportunity to engage with the locals and the president of the Talab Khatikan Bazar Association to inquire about their requirements and grievances. This interaction aimed to foster a collaborative approach to address any challenges faced by the residents and shopkeepers during the busy festive season. During the inspection, ADM Jamwal also visited the Markazi Jamia Masjid and reviewed the ongoing construction work. She took the time to assess the arrangements made for public gatherings, ensuring that everything was in place to accommodate the large number of people expected during Ramzan prayers.

A key aspect of the inspection was the directive given to Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) officials to remove any encroachments from public areas and ensure cleanliness throughout the market. This included clearing garbage and ensuring that public spaces remained open and accessible for all.

Accompanying the ADM during the inspection were Tehsildar Paramdeep Singh, AD Food Santosh Kumar, and other senior officers. The district administration has urged businesses in the area to comply with all relevant regulations to ensure a safe, efficient, and pleasant shopping experience for the public during the remainder of Ramzan.
