MARCH 24:In a solemn observance of the 94th Martyrs’ Day, Satish Sharma, Minister for FCS&CA, Transport, Youth Services and Sports, Information Technology, Science and Technology, ARI & Trainings, paid rich tributes to the legendary martyrs Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev. The event, held in Jammu, was organized to honor their immense sacrifices in the struggle for India’s independence.
Speaking at the function, Satish Sharma expressed deep reverence for the martyrs and highlighted their supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation. “The trio of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru made the ultimate sacrifice at the revered feet of Bharat Mata. Their courage and dedication continue to inspire millions, fueling the spirit of the freedom struggle against the British rule,” the Minister said.
Sharma emphasized that the freedom India enjoys today comes at the cost of countless sacrifices, many of them made by the youth, including children. “Today, we breathe freely because thousands of brave men and women laid down their lives for our liberty. We must always respect their sacrifices and remember that their bravery gifted us the freedom we cherish today,” he added.
In keeping with the spirit of the occasion, a multi-speciality free Ayush Medical Camp was organized as part of the Martyrs’ Day observance. The medical camp, aimed at paying homage to the revolutionaries, provided vital healthcare services to the community, furthering the cause of welfare and public health.
The event was organized by the Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Foundation under the supervision of Dr. Karan Singh. The camp was a reflection of the martyrs’ enduring legacy, demonstrating how their sacrifice continues to benefit society in diverse ways.
Prominent figures who attended the event included former OBC Chairman Kuldeep Raj Verma, Padma Shri awardee SP Verma, along with a large gathering of people from various walks of life, all present to pay tribute to the martyrs. The occasion not only marked a moment of remembrance but also served as a reminder of the sacrifices that shaped the nation’s freedom.
Satish Sharma concluded his address by urging the younger generation to draw inspiration from the sacrifices of these great heroes and to contribute positively to the nation’s growth and prosperity. He reiterated that the legacy of these revolutionaries must be carried forward by ensuring that their values of patriotism, courage, and sacrifice remain alive in the hearts of all Indians.
