OCT 09:Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani, participated in the prestigious FICCI Frames 2025 event in Mumbai, engaging with leading filmmakers, tour operators, and creative industry stakeholders to highlight the growing opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir’s tourism and film sectors.

During his interaction, Wani emphasized the government’s vision of positioning Jammu and Kashmir as a premier destination for film production, cultural tourism, and youth-led creative ventures. He stated that the region’s diverse landscapes, improved infrastructure, and stable environment now provide an ideal backdrop for both domestic and international filmmakers.

The discussions focused on reviving film tourism in Kashmir, which once served as a favorite shooting destination for Bollywood and international productions. Wani invited production houses to explore the renewed potential of the region under the Film Policy of J&K, which offers a range of incentives, single-window clearances, and logistical support to encourage shooting in scenic locales across the Union Territory.

In addition to promoting tourism, the Advisor met with representatives from the Indian Institute of Communication and Technology (IICT) to discuss initiatives for skill development, capacity building, and creative education for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between local talent and the professional demands of the national film and tourism industries.

Wani underlined that developing a skilled creative workforce is crucial for generating sustainable employment and ensuring that local youth play an integral role in the region’s evolving film and tourism economy. He added that the government is committed to creating a vibrant ecosystem where culture, creativity, and entrepreneurship thrive together.

The engagement at FICCI Frames reflects Jammu and Kashmir’s renewed efforts to showcase its cultural richness, cinematic potential, and youth power on a national platform, marking another step toward the holistic revival of the Union Territory’s economy through tourism and creative industries.
