May 3: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), in collaboration with the Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET), organized an Entrepreneurship and Startup Orientation Program at its Bari Brahmana campus. The event aimed to introduce students to the entrepreneurial landscape and the opportunities available under the J&K Startup Policy 2024-27.
Around 40 students participated in the session, which included interactive modules on startup ideation, business modeling, and access to government support schemes. JKEDI experts offered practical insights into incentives, funding, and incubation support available to emerging entrepreneurs in Jammu and Kashmir.
Director JKEDI, Khalid Jahangir, addressed the participants, stressing the significance of entrepreneurship in today’s economy. He emphasized that such programs are essential for inspiring students to adopt a mindset of innovation and self-reliance, shifting from job seekers to job creators.
Faculty members, students, and institute officials engaged actively in the discussions, making the event a productive learning experience. The initiative is part of JKEDI’s broader mission to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Union Territory, thereby boosting employment generation and economic growth.
