SEP 27: Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, will inaugurate the fourth edition of the Kautilya Economic Conclave (KEC 2025) on 3rd October at the Taj Palace, New Delhi. The three-day event, running from 3rd–5th October, will conclude with reflections on India’s foreign and economic policy by Union Minister for External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar.

This year’s theme, “Seeking Prosperity in Turbulent Times”, underscores India’s resilience and aspirations amid global uncertainty, shifting geopolitics, and economic headwinds. The conclave will bring together over 75 international participants from 30+ countries, alongside senior policymakers, economists, and thought leaders, making it one of India’s most globally representative economic dialogues.

Key highlights include a special session on “Communications: Emerging Technologies” chaired by Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister of Communications, focusing on AI and digital infrastructure. The conclave will also host a high-level plenary on global macroeconomic prudence, chaired by Dr. P. K. Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, to assess global economic health and governance reforms.

Notable international voices include Jean-Claude Trichet, Honorary Governor of Banque de France; Mari Elka Pangestu, former Indonesian Trade Minister; Taro Kono of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party; Bai Chong-En of Tsinghua University; and leading academics from the London School of Economics. Prominent Indian participants such as RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra, Senior Advocate Harish Salve, and Principal Secretary Shaktikanta Das will engage in discussions on central banking, legal reforms, and growth frameworks.

Sessions will cover Asia’s rise as a growth hub, BRICS’ evolving role, industrial policy, healthcare, urbanisation, trade, and employment. Networking formats and interactive panels will foster solution-oriented exchanges.

Launched in 2022 by the Institute of Economic Growth under N. K. Singh’s leadership, in partnership with the Ministry of Finance, KEC has swiftly grown into a premier platform for candid global dialogue on pressing economic challenges.
