Jan 18: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reviewed the ongoing development works of the Pachokhar Digital Library, a unique initiative dedicated to Nari Shakti, at Zamania in Ghazipur district. The project is envisioned as a transformative step towards promoting girls’ education, digital literacy and women empowerment in rural areas, in alignment with the national mission Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao.
During the review, LG Manoj Sinha assessed the progress of infrastructure and facilities being developed at the digital library, which aims to provide young girls and women with access to educational resources, digital tools and learning opportunities. He underlined that education is the most powerful medium for social change and empowerment, particularly for girls in rural and semi-urban regions.
The Pachokhar Digital Library has been conceptualised as a community-centric knowledge hub, offering books, digital learning material, online resources and skill-oriented content. The initiative seeks to bridge the digital divide by ensuring that girls and women from rural backgrounds are not left behind in the digital age.
LG Manoj Sinha stated that the project will strengthen the resolve of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao by creating an enabling environment where girls are encouraged to pursue education without barriers. He highlighted that empowering girls through education directly contributes to stronger families, resilient communities and inclusive national development.
Emphasising community participation, the Lieutenant Governor noted that such initiatives can play a vital role in changing mindsets and promoting gender equality at the grassroots level. By providing safe and accessible learning spaces, the digital library is expected to inspire parents and communities to actively support girls’ education.
The initiative at Zamania is also aimed at empowering rural communities by fostering a culture of learning, innovation and self-reliance. With access to digital platforms and educational content, beneficiaries will be better equipped to enhance their skills, improve employability and participate meaningfully in the country’s development journey.
The Pachokhar Digital Library stands as a symbol of commitment towards women-led development, reflecting the government’s vision of inclusive growth through education, technology and social empowerment.
