Jan 25: Lok Bhavan Jammu today hosted the Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day celebrations, marking the occasion with cultural pride and reflections on the state’s rich heritage and development journey. The event brought together officials, members of the Uttar Pradesh community residing in Jammu and Kashmir, and guests.

On the occasion, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended warm greetings to the people of Uttar Pradesh and paid tribute to the many luminaries who have shaped the state’s historical, cultural and spiritual legacy. He described Uttar Pradesh as the spiritual heartland of India, home to some of the country’s most revered pilgrimage centres and a cradle of Indian civilisation.

The Lieutenant Governor highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s immense contribution to India’s freedom movement, literature, philosophy, art and culture. He said the state has produced great saints, thinkers, poets and national leaders whose ideas continue to guide the nation’s progress.

Speaking on the development journey of Uttar Pradesh, LG Manoj Sinha noted that the state has emerged as a strong example of good governance, infrastructure growth and economic transformation in recent years. He said that focused efforts in sectors such as connectivity, industry, education, healthcare and urban development have helped Uttar Pradesh register significant progress.

The Lieutenant Governor also emphasised the deep cultural bonds that unite different regions of the country, stating that celebrations like Foundation Day foster national unity and mutual respect among states. He said such occasions provide an opportunity to honour shared values while celebrating regional diversity.

The programme featured cultural presentations reflecting the traditions and heritage of Uttar Pradesh, adding colour and vibrancy to the celebrations. Participants expressed pride in the state’s legacy and optimism about its future growth.
