Jan 26: The tableau of the Ministry of Ayush was prominently showcased at the 77th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path, offering a powerful visual narrative of India’s age-old healthcare traditions harmonised with modern scientific and technological advancements. The tableau reflected the growing national emphasis on holistic well-being and preventive healthcare rooted in India’s civilisational wisdom.
According to the Ministry, the tableau was designed around the theme “Ayush ka Tantra, Swasthya ka Mantra”, which aligns with the larger national vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and people-centric development. The presentation highlighted how traditional systems of medicine continue to remain relevant in addressing contemporary health challenges while complementing modern healthcare practices.
The tableau depicted India’s inclusive and integrative approach to health by showcasing the country’s six traditional medical systems — Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homoeopathy. These systems were presented as vital pillars of preventive, promotive and community-based healthcare, contributing to the overall well-being of citizens.
A key highlight of the tableau was its emphasis on the integration of traditional knowledge with modern technology. It showcased how digital platforms, scientific research, innovation and standardisation are being leveraged to expand the reach, credibility and global acceptance of Ayush systems. The depiction reinforced the government’s efforts to modernise traditional medicine without diluting its core principles.
The tableau also reflected India’s civilisational philosophy of health, which views wellness not merely as the absence of disease but as a balanced state of physical, mental and spiritual well-being. This approach resonates with the global shift towards preventive healthcare and sustainable lifestyles.
Through artistic visuals and symbolic representations, the Ministry of Ayush highlighted the role of traditional medicine in strengthening public health systems, reducing disease burden and promoting self-care practices among communities. The tableau underscored how Ayush interventions are increasingly being integrated into national health programmes and grassroots healthcare delivery.
The Ministry said the tableau served as a reminder of India’s leadership in holistic health practices and its commitment to sharing this knowledge with the world. It also showcased how Ayush contributes to employment generation, innovation and the growth of indigenous healthcare industries, further supporting the vision of self-reliance.
The Ayush tableau at the Republic Day Parade not only celebrated India’s rich medical heritage but also projected a forward-looking vision where tradition and technology work together to build a healthier and more resilient nation.
