Jan 08: In a significant move towards strengthening collaborative and outcome-driven social development, the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) on Thursday launched PANKHUDI, an integrated digital portal designed to enhance partnerships and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) engagement for the welfare of women and children across India.
The portal was formally launched on January 8, 2026, by Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smt. Annpurna Devi, in the presence of Minister of State Smt. Savitri Thakur and Secretary, MWCD, Shri Anil Malik. The initiative underlines the Government of India’s continued commitment to leveraging technology for inclusive governance and people-centric development.
PANKHUDI has been conceptualised as a single-window digital platform that brings together individuals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), corporate entities, CSR contributors, and government agencies working in the domain of women and child development. The portal aims to streamline voluntary contributions, institutional partnerships, and CSR initiatives through a transparent, accountable, and technology-enabled framework.
Drawing inspiration from the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the portal reflects the philosophy of Jan Bhagidari—people’s participation in nation-building. By acting as a bridge between government institutions and stakeholders, PANKHUDI seeks to foster trust, transparency, and collaboration in social sector initiatives.
The portal enables contributors to register, identify priority areas, submit proposals, and track approvals and implementation through clearly defined digital workflows. Key thematic areas covered include nutrition, health, Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), child protection and rehabilitation, women’s safety, and women’s empowerment. All financial contributions are accepted strictly through non-cash modes, ensuring enhanced financial transparency and traceability.
PANKHUDI also strengthens the implementation of the Ministry’s flagship missions—Mission Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0, Mission Vatsalya, and Mission Shakti—by providing a structured mechanism for partnership and monitoring. The platform facilitates convergence among Central and State Government departments, civil society organisations, and private sector stakeholders, improving coordination and accountability at all levels.
Officials highlighted that the portal is expected to significantly improve infrastructure and service delivery across critical institutions, including over 14 lakh Anganwadi Centres, 5,000 Child Care Institutions, around 800 One Stop Centres (OSCs), more than 500 Sakhi Niwas, and over 400 Shakti Sadan. These institutions serve crores of women and children, and enhanced partnerships through PANKHUDI are expected to directly contribute to improved ease of living and access to quality services.
By simplifying the process of engaging with government programmes, PANKHUDI enhances the ease of doing CSR, encourages structured participation, and ensures that contributions translate into measurable outcomes on the ground. The portal represents a forward-looking step in digital governance, aligning social welfare initiatives with modern technology and data-driven monitoring.
The launch of PANKHUDI marks a milestone in India’s journey towards inclusive, collaborative, and sustainable development for women and children. With technology as an enabler and partnerships as a cornerstone, the initiative is poised to play a transformative role in strengthening India’s social development ecosystem and delivering meaningful impact at scale.
