APRIL 10: The District Election Office Jammu has officially launched a door-to-door campaign in the 77-Nagrota Assembly Constituency to distribute voter forms under the ongoing Special Summary Revision (SSR) 2025. This initiative is aimed at ensuring the inclusion of eligible voters and correcting electoral details within the constituency.
The exercise is being carried out by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) who are visiting households to distribute and assist citizens with three critical forms: Form 6 for new voter registration, Form 7 for deletion of names, and Form 8 for corrections and shifting of voter entries. BLOs are working diligently to reach as many residents as possible, guiding them through the process and making sure all eligible voters are included in the updated electoral rolls.
This door-to-door campaign is part of the larger effort to maintain accurate voter lists and to ensure no eligible voter is left out. As the deadline for submission of claims and objections approaches on April 24, the campaign will continue over the next few days to maximize voter enrollment and accuracy. The District Election Office is actively engaging with local communities to increase awareness of the importance of this revision process.
The Special Summary Revision (SSR) 2025 aims to update the voter list in accordance with the latest demographic data, including those who have turned 18 by April 1, 2025. In particular, the District Election Office has appealed to all eligible citizens, especially new voters who will turn 18 by the specified date, to take full advantage of this initiative and ensure their names are properly entered in the electoral roll.
The exercise will also help in identifying and removing duplicate entries, as well as correcting any inaccuracies in the voter list. By distributing these forms, the District Election Office aims to streamline the process and make it easier for citizens to participate in the democratic process, particularly those who may not have easy access to registration centers.
In addition to the door-to-door distribution, the District Election Office has provided a platform for citizens to submit claims and objections directly. This ensures that any errors can be addressed before the final list is compiled and published.
The District Election Office has urged all eligible voters in the constituency to participate in this vital exercise, helping to maintain a transparent and inclusive electoral process.
