OCT 29: The National Communications Academy (NCA), Department of Telecommunications (DoT), and the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Sanchar Bhawan, New Delhi, to strengthen cooperation in telecom policy, research, and capacity building. The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Neeraj Mittal, Chairman DCC & Secretary (Telecom).
The agreement was formalized by Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, Director of IIM Calcutta, and Shri Atul Sinha, Director General of National Communications Academy – Technology (NCA-T), Ghaziabad. Senior officials from both institutions, including Prof. R. Rajesh Babu, Dean (Executive Education), and Shri Navneet Chouhan, DDG (TS & PR), were also present.
The MoU establishes a broad collaboration framework to promote joint initiatives in training, research, consulting, and policy formulation across emerging telecom domains like ICT, mobile communication, and cyberspace. It reflects a shared commitment to developing knowledge-driven programs, organizing workshops, and fostering innovation for capacity enhancement in the telecom ecosystem.
The National Communications Academy (NCA), under the Department of Telecommunications, plays a key role in training officers from ITS, IRRS, and IP&TAFS cadres, contributing to India’s digital growth. Meanwhile, IIM Calcutta, a globally recognized management institution under the Ministry of Education, brings expertise in research, management education, and policy advisory.
This collaboration marks a significant step toward advancing telecom policy and human resource development for a digitally empowered India.
