OCT 24:The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) has reported significant achievements under Special Campaign 5.0, a nationwide initiative focused on promoting cleanliness, space optimization, and improved grievance redressal across Central Ministries and Departments.
Chairing the 8th review meeting, Secretary V. Srinivas informed that the campaign has covered 4.16 lakh office spaces across India, showcasing its wide outreach and impact. He added that over 4.62 lakh public grievances have been resolved, strengthening the government’s commitment to citizen-centric service delivery.
One of the campaign’s most remarkable outcomes has been the revenue generation of ₹307.17 crore through the disposal of scrap and obsolete materials. Additionally, 128.06 lakh square feet of office space has been freed for productive use, significantly improving administrative efficiency and workplace management.
The meeting witnessed participation from more than 200 senior officers representing 84 Ministries and Departments, who shared best practices and discussed strategies to sustain the campaign’s long-term outcomes.
Highlighting the role of technology and communication, the Secretary noted that the campaign has achieved strong digital engagement, with over 13,000 tweets under the hashtag #SpecialCampaign5, along with the release of 200+ infographics and 197 PIB statements amplifying its message nationwide.
Shri Srinivas commended the collective efforts of all Ministries and Departments, emphasizing that Special Campaign 5.0 has transformed into a mass movement promoting cleanliness, transparency, and efficiency in governance. He urged all stakeholders to continue the momentum and reinforce India’s commitment to a more responsive and effective administrative framework.
