OCT 24: Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, continued his European engagements with a series of high-level meetings in Germany and Luxembourg, focusing on expanding India’s global trade partnerships and strengthening industrial cooperation.
Following his meetings with senior officials at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the Federal Chancellery on October 23, Shri Goyal met Mr. Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Luxembourg. The two leaders reviewed progress in bilateral economic relations and explored new opportunities to deepen trade, investment, and business cooperation. They also exchanged views on regional and global developments and discussed Mr. Bettel’s upcoming State Visit to India.
In a parallel engagement, Shri Goyal held one-on-one meetings with CEOs of leading German industrial giants, including Infineon Technologies, Schaeffler Group, Renk Vehicle Mobility, Herrenknecht AG, Enertrag, and Mercedes-Benz. The discussions centered around enhancing partnerships in defence manufacturing, renewable energy, advanced mobility, and emerging technologies.
The CEOs expressed optimism about India’s investment climate and reaffirmed their intent to expand operations and collaboration with Indian firms. Shri Goyal highlighted India’s robust economic growth, pro-industry reforms, and emphasis on innovation-driven development as key factors driving global investor confidence.
Later in the day, Shri Goyal is scheduled to participate in a high-level panel on global trade at the Berlin Global Dialogue, continuing India’s outreach to international business leaders and reinforcing the nation’s role as a major global economic partner.
