The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Secretary Tribal Affairs Prasanna Ramaswamy G, District Development Commissioners of Jammu Division, the Director Tribal Affairs J&K, and other senior officers.

The Minister took a comprehensive review of both physical and financial progress achieved under key schemes including the UT Capex Budget, Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub-Scheme (SCA to TSS), Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAAGY), Dharti Abha Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA), and Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana (PMVDY).

Emphasizing efficient utilization of funds and strict adherence to timelines and quality parameters, the Minister instructed officials to ensure outcome-driven governance through regular monitoring and timely completion of projects. “The core objectives of these flagship programmes must be realized in their true spirit to benefit the tribal population,” he asserted.

Rana reiterated that the Omar Abdullah-led government remains firmly committed to the socio-economic empowerment of tribal communities through sustained policy interventions and targeted welfare measures.

Highlighting the need for innovation and research-based tribal development, he called for greater collaboration between the Tribal Research Institute (TRI) and IIT Jammu to strengthen research, documentation, and preservation of tribal heritage. Such partnerships, he noted, would help build an authentic repository of knowledge and foster inclusive growth.

The Minister also underscored the importance of promoting tribal art, culture, and languages by engaging local poets, artists, and cultural practitioners, ensuring community participation for sustainable results.

Laying special focus on the renovation and upgradation of tribal hostels across J&K, Rana directed officers to work in mission mode to provide safe, well-equipped, and conducive environments for students. He also instructed that Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) be prepared based on actual field requirements and realistic assessments for quality outcomes.

Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, in his remarks, emphasized the Government of India’s renewed focus on tribal welfare and called for coordinated, mission-mode implementation to ensure benefits reach the intended beneficiaries efficiently.
