NOV 01: The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, to jointly develop a Comprehensive SDG Alignment Framework. The initiative aims to integrate National, State, ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) indicators in pursuit of the Government’s vision of Viksit Bharat.
The collaboration seeks to strengthen evidence-based policymaking and foster sustainable corporate participation by harmonizing the national and sub-national sustainability frameworks with India’s corporate ESG and CSR efforts.
At IICA, the initiative is being guided under the leadership of Shri Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh, Director General & CEO, who has been instrumental in steering IICA’s strategic programs on ESG, CSR, and responsible business conduct.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from both organizations, including Sh. Kishor Baburao Surwade, Dr. Garima Dadhich, Ms. Ruchika Gupta, Sh. Shivnath Singh Jadawat, and Dr. Ziaul Haque, among others.
The National Indicator Framework (NIF)—India’s primary mechanism for monitoring progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—will serve as the foundation of the new framework. Building on the NIF, the project will align state-level indicators with national priorities, while integrating corporate ESG and CSR parameters.
This unified framework will ensure synergy between public policy and private sector action, enabling coherent SDG implementation and advancing the vision of a sustainable and inclusive Viksit Bharat
