APRIL 4: A Nukkad Natak cum Cultural Awareness Programme on the “Nasha Mukt Bharat” (Say No to Drugs) campaign was organized by the Cultural Unit of the Department of Information & Public Relations at Government Degree College (GDC) Sidhra. The event aimed to spread awareness about the detrimental effects of drug abuse and inspire students and the public to contribute to creating a drug-free society.

The cultural programme featured a series of theme-based songs and Nukkad Natak (street plays) performed by the talented artists of the Cultural Unit. The performances powerfully depicted the real-life consequences of substance abuse, focusing on its devastating impact on individuals, families, and society at large. The artists used engaging and thought-provoking dramatizations to showcase how addiction affects people’s lives, their relationships, and their potential, while also emphasizing the importance of rehabilitation and spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drugs.

The Nukkad Natak served as a powerful tool in conveying the message of drug prevention, highlighting the various challenges that people face due to addiction. Through a blend of drama, music, and messages, the event underscored the need for collective efforts to tackle the rising issue of drug abuse and to promote healthier and drug-free lifestyles.

On the occasion, Dr. G.S. Rakwal, the Principal of Government Degree College Sidhra, shared his thoughts on the importance of awareness about drug abuse and its consequences. He spoke to the students and the audience, emphasizing that the youth should take the responsibility of leading a life free from substance abuse and setting an example for others.
