AUG 01: In a landmark event marking a major developmental milestone, Union Minister Satish Sharma chaired the Sampoornata Samman Samaroh and inaugurated the Aakanksha Haat in Bandipora district of Jammu & Kashmir. The event celebrated the 100% saturation of six key indicators under the government’s flagship Sampoornata Abhiyan.

Tulail and Arin blocks, falling under the Aspirational Block Programme (ABP), were recognised for achieving complete saturation in sectors including health, nutrition, education, agriculture, financial inclusion, and basic infrastructure. The achievement reflects the government’s committed efforts toward inclusive development and focused governance in aspirational districts.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Sharma lauded the dedication of local administration, frontline workers, and community participation in making this milestone possible. “This is not just a celebration of numbers, but of commitment, transformation, and empowered communities,” he said.

The Aakanksha Haat, also inaugurated during the event, showcased local crafts, self-help group products, and entrepreneurial initiatives from the region. It aims to boost rural livelihoods, promote local artisans, and foster women-led development.

Minister Sharma further emphasized the importance of convergence and people-centric planning in governance. “The Aspirational Block Programme is proving to be a game-changer for grassroots transformation. Tulail and Arin have set an example for other blocks across India to emulate,” he added.

The celebration concluded with the felicitation of field workers, officers, and community leaders whose efforts contributed to the success. Cultural performances, local exhibitions, and interactive sessions with beneficiaries added a vibrant community spirit to the occasion.

This achievement reaffirms the vision of making governance more responsive and equitable, especially in remote and underdeveloped regions like Tulail and Arin, strengthening the broader vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.
