DC Kathua, HADP team encourage rural agri-entrepreneurs

NOV 09: Mission Director, Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP)/JKCIP, Sandeep Kumar, visited District Kathua today and held an interactive session with Krishi Udhyamis (Agri-Entrepreneurs). He was accompanied by Director Agriculture Jammu, Anil Kumar, and Director Horticulture Jammu, Gul Sayed.

During the field visit, the Mission Director inspected key agricultural and allied enterprises, including a Mushroom Cluster, Vermicompost Unit at Jandi, Millet Restaurant at Pathwal, and a private sector soil testing laboratory. He appreciated the innovative efforts of local entrepreneurs under the HADP framework, with special acknowledgment for women-led ventures such as the Millet Restaurant.

Interacting with Krishi Udhyamis, Sandeep Kumar highlighted the significant scope for livelihood development under HADP and encouraged them to leverage the support mechanisms of Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs) to benefit the farming community. It was informed that 120 Kisan Khidmat Ghars have been established in Kathua district, operated by Krishi Udhyamis under Project 20 of HADP.

The Mission Director assured the participants of continued guidance and institutional support for their entrepreneurial growth. Deputy Commissioner Kathua also interacted with the entrepreneurs and reiterated the district administration’s commitment to promoting progressive agri-entrepreneurship across the region.

Earlier, at the Chief Agriculture Officer’s office complex, the Mission Director was received by district officers, Krishi Udhyamis, and staff members of the Agriculture Department.
