Devak Bridge Restoration Ordered by LG Sinha After On-Site Visit in Samba

SEP 10: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha visited a health camp at Keso Manhasan, organized by the Health Department in collaboration with AIIMS Jammu, to provide medical support to families affected by the recent floods across the region.

During his visit, the Lieutenant Governor interacted with patients undergoing check-ups, listened to their concerns, and assured them of continued government support. He commended the quick response of the Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and District Administration, stating their timely action saved numerous lives during the incessant rainfall and flooding.

“We are fully committed to standing by the people of Jammu and Kashmir during this difficult time,” said LG Sinha. “Both the Government of India and the J&K Administration are working tirelessly to restore damaged infrastructure and ensure complete rehabilitation of affected families.”

He acknowledged the massive destruction caused by the recent natural calamities in Jammu, calling it one of the most severe events in recent memory. A central team, in coordination with the J&K Administration, is currently assessing damages to critical infrastructure including roads, power lines, water supply, education, and health services.

Addressing the impact on the farming community, the LG encouraged farmers to utilize schemes like PM Fasal Bima Yojana and the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP).

He thanked AIIMS Jammu’s team for their proactive role and confirmed that nine more mega health camps will be organized. He also echoed Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s directive to set up health camps in every Panchayat for flood-affected families.

Earlier, LG Sinha visited the Devak Bridge near AIIMS Jammu in Vijaypur, which was damaged by the floods, and directed officials to expedite restoration work.
