AUG 18: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Poonch conducted an extensive inspection tour of the Mandi–Loran area to review the progress of ongoing development works and interact with local residents. During the visit, the DC assessed the implementation of various infrastructure projects and directed the concerned departments to ensure timely completion as per approved standards.
Accompanied by senior officers from the district administration, the DC inspected road connectivity works, improvement of civic amenities and other ongoing projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life in the remote parts of the district. He reviewed the pace of work at multiple construction sites and instructed officials to address bottlenecks immediately so that people can benefit from the completed projects without further delay.
Taking note of local aspirations, the DC interacted with residents and sought feedback on the development initiatives currently underway. He assured them that the administration is committed to promoting inclusive development and addressing public grievances in a time-bound manner.
As part of the tour, the Deputy Commissioner also paid obeisance at several prominent religious shrines in the area. He offered prayers for peace, prosperity and the well-being of the people of Poonch district. The DC emphasised the importance of preserving the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of the region and highlighted the need to promote religious tourism to boost the local economy.
Speaking to media persons, the DC stated that the administration remains focused on accelerating development in far-flung areas, ensuring that public services are delivered efficiently and transparently. He also urged the departments concerned to work in close coordination and maintain regular communication with the local communities to better understand their needs and priorities.
