GCOE Jammu promotes education for progress and nation-building

NOV 12: The Government College of Education (GCOE) Jammu celebrated National Education Day by organizing a Slogan Writing Competition to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first Education Minister and a key architect of the country’s modern education system.

The event aimed to honor his immense contribution to education and to spread awareness about its vital role in nation-building. Eleven students participated actively, showcasing their creativity and ideas through thought-provoking slogans on the theme “Education: The Pathway to Progress.”

The programme was organized under the patronage of the Principal, Dr. Jyoti Parihar, who highlighted the transformative power of education in fostering social and national development.

The competition was judged by Prof. Sunanda Rani, Head of Science Department, and Prof. Anuradha Choudhary, Head of History Department. Arti Chadgal of B.Ed Semester I won the first prize, while Mansi Rajput and Neha Sharma of B.Ed Semester III secured the second and third positions respectively.

All participants were awarded certificates of appreciation for their enthusiastic participation. The event was coordinated by Prof. Roopa Kumari, Prof. Kiran Thapa, and Dr. Shallu Jasrotia under the guidance of Dr. Rajinder Kour, Head of the Education Department.

The celebration concluded with a message emphasizing the importance of lifelong learning and the youth’s role in shaping a progressive and educated nation.
