NOV 03: The Department of Health & Family Welfare (DoHFW) has successfully achieved 100% of its targets under the ‘Special Campaign 5.0’, conducted from 2nd to 31st October 2025, aimed at institutionalizing Swachhata (cleanliness) and minimizing pendency in government offices.
The campaign was implemented across DoHFW Headquarters, Central Government Hospitals, Attached and Subordinate Offices, Autonomous Bodies, and CPSUs nationwide. It emphasized efficiency, sustainability, and a clean work culture.
Under the leadership of the Union Health Ministers and the Union Health Secretary, progress was closely monitored throughout the month. A total of 1,984 cleanliness drives were conducted across DoHFW institutions. The campaign achieved disposal of 5,169 public grievances, 426 appeals, and 85 MP references, along with simplification of 11 rules and processes.
Additionally, 52,070 physical files were reviewed, with 31,621 files weeded out, and 9,035 e-files examined, resulting in 2,850 closures. This exercise freed up 40,257 sq. ft. of office space and generated ₹41.37 lakh through the sale of scrap and e-waste.
Institutions showcased innovative practices such as AIIMS Guwahati’s e-waste campaign and RIMS Imphal’s Waste-to-Wealth display, featuring a demo helicopter crafted from discarded materials.
The progress was uploaded daily on the SCDPM portal of the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG), along with social media and PIB updates highlighting best practices.
The campaign reaffirmed DoHFW’s commitment to efficient governance, environmental sustainability, and public service excellence under the vision of a cleaner, more effective health administration.
