OCT 25:Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha inaugurated the NEP Conclave 2025, organised by the Higher Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir, reaffirming the Union Territory’s commitment to transformative educational reforms under the National Education Policy (NEP).
Speaking at the event, the Lt. Governor highlighted that Jammu and Kashmir is among the first Union Territories in India to achieve full-scale implementation of the NEP across all Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs). He commended the collective efforts of educators, administrators, and students in driving this historic transformation, aligning the region’s education system with national and global benchmarks.
LG Sinha emphasized that J&K is building a future-ready, inclusive, and innovative academic ecosystem that nurtures creativity, research, and entrepreneurship. He said the UT’s focus is on empowering youth to unlock their potential and actively contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, a mission aimed at making India a developed nation within the next two decades.
Underscoring the growing importance of technology, the Lt. Governor noted that the convergence of Artificial Intelligence and Indian ethos will be the defining force in the nation’s journey toward a knowledge-driven economy. “AI, combined with our civilizational values, will not only boost innovation and research but also ensure sustainable and ethical growth,” he remarked.
He further added that under the NEP framework, J&K’s higher education institutions are focusing on multidisciplinary learning, skill development, digital empowerment, and research excellence, ensuring that every student receives holistic and globally competitive education.
The conclave brought together academicians, policymakers, and students to discuss strategies for strengthening educational governance, enhancing employability, and integrating emerging technologies into learning systems.
LG Sinha’s address reaffirmed the government’s unwavering resolve to transform education in J&K into a pillar of progress, innovation, and nation-building, truly reflecting the spirit of NEP 2020 and India’s aspirations for 2047.
