SEP 30: Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Khurshid Ahmad Shah, convened a virtual meeting today to review the progress of JJM implementation across all Jal Shakti (PHE) divisions in Jammu & Kashmir. The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE) Jammu, Superintending Engineers of respective circles, Executive Engineers of civil and mechanical divisions, and other officers of the Mission Directorate.
During the meeting, the Mission Director inquired about the current status of ongoing water supply schemes under JJM. Officials provided updates on the execution phases of various projects. The MD directed Chief Engineers to prioritize commissioning of schemes nearing completion, ensuring that villages benefit from tap water connections at the earliest.
A district-wise review of scheme completion was conducted, with the Mission Director reaffirming the target of completion by the end of 2025. He instructed Superintending Engineers to assess ground progress and review works fortnightly to ensure adherence to timelines.
Discussions also covered JJM 2.0 dashboard onboarding, uploading KML files of pipe networks and assets on PM Gat Shakti portal, geo-tagging of assets, Har Ghar Jal certification for reported villages, and water quality monitoring by UT laboratories.
The Mission Director assured officers that financial and institutional support from the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, is fully available to facilitate timely implementation of all projects. These steps are aimed at strengthening water supply infrastructure and ensuring safe tap water access for all households in Jammu & Kashmir.
