NHPC Marks 51st Raising Day, Celebrates 50 Glorious Years of Nation-Building

NOV 08: NHPC Limited, a “Navratna” enterprise under the Government of India, celebrated its 51st Raising Day on 7th November 2025, marking the completion of 50 glorious years of service to the nation. Grand celebrations were held at NHPC’s Corporate Office in Faridabad and across all its regional offices, projects, and power stations.

The event’s Chief Guest, Shri Manohar Lal, Union Minister of Power, Housing and Urban Affairs, released a “Customized My Stamp” on NHPC issued by India Post and an “Achievement Book” showcasing the organization’s 50-year journey of excellence in hydropower and green energy. The Minister commended NHPC’s vital contribution to India’s energy security and highlighted its key role in achieving the national target of Net Zero Emissions by 2070 through renewable expansion and innovation.

India Post released a special stamp featuring 12 iconic NHPC dams and barrages symbolizing the company’s engineering expertise. The “Achievement Book” illustrated NHPC’s milestones from its inception in 1975 to its emergence as a leading hydropower company.

Union Minister Shri Shripad Naik and Secretary (Power) Shri Pankaj Agarwal extended greetings, acknowledging NHPC’s dedication and leadership in clean energy. CMD Shri Bhupender Gupta expressed gratitude to all stakeholders and reaffirmed NHPC’s commitment to sustainability and nation-building.

The celebration also featured award ceremonies, cultural performances, and a tribute to 150 years of Vande Mataram, along with musical and comedy acts by Anand Raj Anand and Sanket Bhosale.
