During the event, it was announced that more than 8.55 lakh farmers from Jammu and Kashmir have received the benefits under this latest instalment. Each eligible farmer received a direct transfer of ₹2,000 into their bank accounts, furthering the vision of transparent and corruption-free governance. The move is expected to boost agricultural productivity and provide essential relief during the ongoing crop season.
In a major announcement, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also declared a ₹1.70 lakh financial assistance for houses damaged due to natural calamities, ensuring that affected rural families can rebuild their homes and restore livelihoods. This combined support—under both PM-Kisan and the housing aid initiative—represents a holistic approach to agricultural recovery and rural resilience.
Minister Javid Dar highlighted that such initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to the welfare of farmers, who form the backbone of the rural economy. He emphasized that consistent support through the PM-Kisan scheme has helped reduce economic distress in rural areas and encouraged farmers to adopt better agricultural practices.
The PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, launched in 2019, has become one of the most impactful direct benefit transfer (DBT) programmes in India. With the release of its 21st instalment, the scheme continues to bridge gaps in financial inclusion and uplift millions of farming families nationwide.
The event concluded with a message of continued collaboration between the Centre and the Union Territory administration to achieve self-reliant and prosperous agriculture in Jammu and Kashmir.
