Strategic Ramban Road Inspected for Urgent Repairs

SEP 01: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, along with senior officials, inspected the Karoal-Maitra-Gool Road at Batti to assess damages caused by the recent floods in the Chenab River. The vital road stretch had been washed away, disrupting connectivity to several key areas.

The inspection team included Commander 11 Sector RR Chanderkote, SSP Arun Gupta, ADC VarunJeet Singh Charak, and PD NHAI Shubam Yadav. They jointly explored feasible options to restore the road link, while ensuring safety and speed in execution.

Recognizing the strategic significance of this route, the Army was called in to take immediate measures for restoring traffic. The Karoal-Maitra-Gool Road serves as a lifeline, providing access to Sub-Division Gool, important areas of Tehsil Ramban, and several national projects including the Railway line and Sawalkote Hydro Project. Officials stressed that disruption of this connectivity impacts both local residents and crucial developmental works.

Deputy Commissioner Khan directed all concerned departments to coordinate closely and provide every possible support to the Army in restoration efforts. He reiterated that the administration is committed to minimizing hardships faced by the public while safeguarding progress on national infrastructure projects.

Local residents expressed hope that the swift intervention would restore vital connectivity at the earliest, ensuring both essential supplies and continuity of developmental initiatives in the region.
