Union Minister Savitri Thakur Visits Flood-Hit Areas in Himachal Pradesh

SEP 13: Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Smt. Savitri Thakur, undertook an on-ground visit to flood and landslide-affected areas in Himachal Pradesh on 13th September 2025. Her visit aimed to assess the extent of the damage caused by recent cloudbursts, sudden floods, and heavy landslides, which have severely impacted lives and infrastructure across the state.

The Minister toured several locations along the Kullu–Manali route, including Vaishno Mata Temple, Sabzi Mandi (Bandrol), Raison, Dohlu Nala, Fozal Nala, Duada Vihal, Jatehar Vihal (Patlikuhal), Nalsu Nala, Manalsu Nala, Solang, Palchang, Samahan, Bahang, and the 14th to 17th Mile areas situated along the banks of the Beas River. These areas witnessed significant road damage and connectivity loss, disrupting daily life and access to essential services.

During her visit, Smt. Thakur interacted with affected families, listened to their concerns, and expressed solidarity on behalf of the Central Government. She assured residents that all necessary steps are being taken to provide immediate relief and long-term rehabilitation.

She also reviewed the restoration efforts led by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), which is working with local authorities to repair damaged roads and restore transport links on a war footing. The Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that relief reaches every household and that rebuilding efforts are accelerated.

Smt. Thakur reiterated that the welfare of the affected citizens remains a top priority and that continued monitoring and support from the Centre will be extended until normalcy is fully restored.
