OCT 27: Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, administered the Integrity Pledge to officers and staff of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025, being observed from October 27 to November 2, 2025.
This year’s observance, themed “सतर्कता: हमारी साझा जिम्मेदारी” (Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility), aims to reinforce values of integrity, transparency, and accountability in public life in line with directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).
Addressing the gathering, Shri Nadda emphasized the need to make vigilance an institutional habit, ensuring ethical conduct becomes part of everyday governance. He highlighted that preventive vigilance, supported by training and capacity building, can effectively curb unintentional errors and misconduct.
The Minister suggested preparing a simple checklist of do’s and don’ts to help employees remain aware of ethical boundaries in decision-making. “Ethical governance must be practiced, not preached. We must build systems that encourage transparency and fairness,” he stated.
Earlier, the CVC had launched a three-month preventive vigilance campaign (August 18 – November 17, 2025) focusing on five key areas — pending complaint disposal, case resolution, capacity building, asset management, and digital initiatives.
Senior officials and ministry staff participated in the pledge ceremony, reaffirming their commitment to integrity and responsible public service. The observance underscores the government’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of honesty and accountability across institutions.
