AUG 29: Union Minister for Communications and Development of the North Eastern Region, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, delivered an inspiring address at ESYA 2025, the annual tech fest of IIIT-Delhi, urging India’s youth to lead the country toward becoming ‘Vishwaguru Bharat’—a global leader in knowledge and innovation.
Recalling India’s rich intellectual legacy—from Aryabhata to ancient universities like Nalanda and Takshashila—Scindia emphasized that India’s knowledge heritage must now fuel its digital future. He called the tech fest a “launchpad for bold dreams,” encouraging students to “Be Bold, Be Rooted, and Build for Bharat.”
Highlighting India’s leadership in frontier technologies, the Minister noted that the Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF) under the Department of Telecommunications has already supported over 120 futuristic projects in areas like quantum computing, 6G, terahertz communication, indigenous chipsets, and encrypted routers. He envisioned India contributing at least 10% of global 6G patents by 2030, with students playing a central role.
He underlined that technology must be human-centric, asserting, “AI must elevate humanity, not dominate it.”
Grounding technological advancement in Indian values, Scindia reminded students of the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, urging innovations that benefit farmers through precision agriculture, students in digital classrooms, and patients through tele-health.
To those aspiring to study abroad, he gave a heartfelt message: “Go, learn from the world, but return to build your homeland.” He stressed reversing brain drain into brain gain, to restore India’s place as the “Golden Bird.”
Concluding with a powerful call to action, the Minister shared his three guiding mantras: Be Bold, Be Rooted, Build for Bharat—drawing enthusiastic applause from the young audience.
